Tūwharetoa Health, in collaboration with Te Hapori Ora, hosted a significant Suicide Prevention Wānanga, tailored specifically for kaimahi who work tirelessly on the frontlines of community wellbeing. This dedicated space fostered rich and meaningful discussions, where kaimahi shared their expertise and experiences, deepening their capacity to provide critical support to whānau impacted by suicide.
Tau Thompson, a respected member of our community, is a Ju-jitsu instructor and counsellor for REAL, where he is deeply passionate about the rangatahi (youth) and whānau (families) he serves. His commitment to providing holistic support through in-depth counseling, mentoring, and related services is widely recognised across Tūwharetoa.
Tihei Mauri Ora! With deep gratitude, we acknowledge the dedication of our whānau who attend our weekly wānanga, upholding the traditions and aspirations of our people. As we gather to nurture the Mauri of our waiata, we honor the rich cultural heritage passed down by our tīpuna. Through shared kōrero, we deepen our understanding of this sacred knowledge, ensuring that the Mauri of our customs and whakapapa thrives for future generations. Ngā mihi nui to all who join in preserving the essence of our culture.
