Our Mahi

Nurturing WhĀnau, One Conversation at a Time

At Te Hapori Ora, our mahi (work) is at the core of everything we do. It’s a reflection of our dedication to the well-being and empowerment of our communities through a variety of culturally-grounded programs and initiatives. From the nurturing spaces of our wānanga to the engaging dialogue of our public talks, each aspect of our work is designed to foster connection, understanding, and growth.

Our mahi is a testament to our commitment to creating a future where Maori and all New Zealanders can thrive, supported by the pillars of our culture and the strength of our collective efforts.

WĀnanga

immersive learning experiences

In the heart of our community’s journey towards healing and growth lies the power of wānanga – immersive learning experiences that bring us together to share knowledge, culture, and support.

Our wānanga, both online and onsite, are designed as beacons of knowledge, empowerment, and connection. Through a diverse range of wānanga, we offer spaces where individuals can come together to learn, share, and heal.

public consultation hui

Our Public Consultation Hui are more than meetings; they are a testament to the power of collective action and the importance of inclusivity in decision-making processes. By engaging with a wide range of voices, including those often marginalized, we ensure that the solutions we devise are holistic and representative of our diverse community. These hui facilitate a deeper understanding among participants, fostering unity and a shared sense of purpose.

Mai Ngā Karu O Te Ora - Suicide Prevention

We invite you to join us for a series of wānanga designed to support whānau and individuals on their hikoi (journey) towards healing and wellbeing. These sessions were created in collaboration with whānau who have been deeply impacted by suicide and who wish to share their stories, strength, and strategies with the community.
