Founded in 2010, Te Hapori Ora emerged from a profound call to action by whānau, hapū, and communities within Tuwharetoa. Faced with three significant challenges that threatened the very fabric of our society, we sought to create transformative solutions to address all forms of violation within our community. Our journey is one of resilience, unity, and unwavering commitment to the well-being and empowerment of our people.
Since our inception in 2010, Te Hapori Ora has been a beacon of hope and change for hundreds of families & individuals across Tuwharetoa and beyond. Our dedicated team has worked tirelessly to foster environments where healing, growth, and empowerment are not just ideals, but realities for every individual and family we serve. These numbers represent more than just statistics; they symbolize the lives we’ve touched and the community we’re building together.
At Te Hapori Ora, our promise is unwavering: to serve our community with integrity, respect, and cultural authenticity. We are dedicated to creating safe spaces for open dialogue, offering support that is both empowering and transformative. Our approach is holistic, acknowledging the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We stand firm in our commitment to nurture, support, and uplift every life we touch.

Our tohu (logo) is a Hokioi (Hawk), a representation of collective strength and vision. The hands forming the wings of the Hokioi represent our unity. The Hokioi’s watchful gaze embodies deep understanding and connection, a nod to our guiding principle of whanaungatanga.
At its heart, where the spirit of our work lies, we’ve integrated a symbol that’s all about the life force and energy that we bring to our practice of wellbeing. The wings, etched with stories of journeys and healing, symbolize where we’ve been and where we’re headed, collectively.
