Step into Atamai Ora: AI for Whānau Wellbeing
An in-person, hands-on wānanga at Te Whāriki Aroha
Atamai Ora is an ongoing, practical wānanga held in person at Te Whāriki Aroha, designed for anyone who wants to learn about AI in a supportive, hands-on environment. This kaupapa supports whānau to grow confidence in the digital world, explore AI tools, and develop creative and practical skills — all grounded in Te Ao Māori values and ways of knowing.
Sessions focus on learning by doing. Participants are guided step by step through topics such as digital identity, AI basics and ethics, visual storytelling, digital content creation, ecommerce, and publishing. You will work directly with tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and DALL·E, learning how they can be used in meaningful, culturally grounded ways.
Atamai Ora is open to beginners and those with some experience. Support is provided throughout, with time to ask questions, explore ideas, and work on your own projects at your own pace.
